Overview:
Sr. Database Architect who has experience designing, maintaining, and mining data from high-volume enterprise-class database systems.

Applicants must have solid experience related to data security, recoverability, performance tuning, and database availability. The role requires knowledge of statistics and data mining techniques is a plus.

Candidates must have the ability and interest to work on a range of projects and business processes, and must have a background that demonstrates this ability.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare specifications for assigned development projects
• Work with team leads and managers on task breakdowns and time estimates for assigned portions of projects, and execute against agreed upon development plans independently
• Perform database infrastructure design, refactoring, data validation, application updates and troubleshooting as required.
• Work closely with software engineers and system administrators to ensure performance, availability and integrity.
• Review and recommend emerging database technologies.
• Evaluate current database platform for performance limitations and make recommendations for improvements/upgrades
• Design and Maintain a database architecture that will scale as business grows
• Create and perform database and system maintenance policy and procedures
• Maintain integrity and security of all data
• Diagnose database and system performance problems
• Determine how database should be configured for optimum performance including all the configuration settings
• Maintain a baseline and perform data layer load balancing-- which clients on what servers from a database perspective
• Develop scripts for system management needs

Qualifications
• Expertise in database schema design and developing database applications for scalability & performance
• Experience with database replication, clustering, backup, and optimization techniques.
• Strong understanding of Business Intelligence tools (Oracle, Business Objects, etc).
• Experience data warehouse and mining in FA is a plus.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environment.
• Experience in application programming using Java or C# is a plus
• BS/MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years experience with PL/SQL
• 5+ years experience as Senior level database administrator for enterprise web based solutions
